At 1:30 P.M., EMS was dispatched for the subject that fell off a horse on the 41000 block of New Market Turner Road. A short while later, Ambulance 799 from Hollywood VRS responded and requested manpower assistance. As Utility 2 from Mechanicsville VFD was getting ready to respond for the assist, the members from both crews were surprised by the earthquake that occurred in the area. As Utility 2 arrived on scene, it was determined that the patient was going to be flown to a trauma center due to her injuries. Engine 224 responded from Co. 2 and established the landing zone at the Laurel Grove Park as the ambulance headed to rendezvous with the trooper at the landing zone.
