Citizens looking for an opportunity to take a more active role in the community can do so by serving on one of the various volunteer boards, committees and commissions.
The St. Mary’s Board of County Commissioners is reaching out to any citizen interested in volunteering their time to the community. Detailed descriptions of the various boards and membership applications are available on the County’s website at http://www.co.saint-marys.md.us/voluntr/. All applications must include a resume.
Some of the boards and commissions which are in need of volunteers are:
- Commission on Aging
- Property Tax Assessment Appeal Board
- Ethics Commission
- Recreation and Parks Board
- Human Relations Commission
- Social Services Board
- Zoning Board of Appeals
- Wicomico Shores Golf Course Board
The following boards have special membership requirements. Citizens should specify which position they are applying for and ensure their resume reflects their qualifications for that specific position.

- Person sought as an Advocate
