On Oct. 25, at 2 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Don Savinos Bar at 2427 Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of a fight.
Upon arrival, officers found a 25-year-old La Plata man lying unconscious in the parking lot and suffering from a head wound. Investigation revealed the victim was involved in an argument with two suspects outside the bar. The argument escalated to a physical altercation in which the victim was struck several times on his head causing him to fall to the ground and lose consciousness.
The victim was flown to an area hospital where he was admitted with life-threatening injuries.
The suspects, Justin Burch Ferrall, 30, and Brian Anthony Hickman, 28, both of St. Mary’s County, fled the scene but were arrested a short distance away. They were charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. A motive for the argument has not been determined.
