BETHESDA, Md. –ย Nov.ย 27, 2:35 p.m. – Police and emergency personnel are responding to Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda for reports of an active shooter on campus.
The military hospital is currently on lockdown as authorities investigate the reports. There has been no confirmation of shots fired at this time.ย

Maryland Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger, who was visiting Walter Reed at the time of the lockdown has been sheltering in a conference with dozens of others.ย

I am currently at Walter Reed Medical in Bethesda where we’ve been told there is an active shooter. I am currently safe in a conference room w/ approx 40 others.
