On November 24, the community was saddened and outraged by the murder of local man Chris Patty, who was shot by his girlfriend’s ex, Jeremiah Watson. The former girlfriend, Tina Dean, had a protective order against her ex, who nonetheless forced his way into the home while Dean, their three children, and Patty were sleeping inside.
Watson, a thirty one year old Leonardtown man, is incarcerated at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He is charged with the murder of Christopher Patty and the attempted murder of Tina Dean. On December 29, Watson was served with an additional warrant charging him with violating the conditions of a protective on Nov. 24.
