Weather-related cancellations and postponements

All campuses of the College of Southern Maryland are closed Monday, Feb. 15 due to weather conditions. Campus advisories are available at http://ready.csmd.edu.


Charles County

Due to inclement weather forecasts, all Charles County Public Schools activities are canceled for Monday, Feb. 15.

Charles County Government administrative offices are closed today, Monday, Feb. 15 for the President’s Day holiday.

Due to hazardous road conditions, VanGO transit service will not operate today, Feb. 15. For updated information on VanGO, call the VanGO Inclement Weather Hotline: 301-934-9305, ext. 5179 or visit www.CharlesCountyMD.gov/cs/VanGO/VanGO.

The following facilities and services have adjusted operating schedules today due to inclement weather:
โ€ข Charles County Landfill and Recycling Centers will open at 9 a.m..
โ€ข Curbside recycling will be delayed one day this week, running Tuesday – Saturday.

The following facilities and services are closed or canceled today (due to inclement weather or holiday observance):

โ€ข Community center programs, drop-ins, and activities
โ€ข Lackey High School, Donald M. Wade Aquatic Center, and North Point High School indoor pools.
โ€ข Elite Gymnastics and Recreation Center (morning activities only)
โ€ข Meals on Wheels Program
โ€ข All Senior Centers
โ€ข Nanjemoy Community Center
โ€ข Tri-County Animal Shelter
โ€ข Crain Memorial Welcome Center
โ€ข Charles County Public Schools, all activities

A decision will be made by 2 p.m. for evening activities at Elite Gymnastics and Recreation Center, Port Tobacco Recreation Center, and indoor soccer games scheduled at the Capital Clubhouse in Waldorf.

The Snow Emergency Plan for Charles County has been placed into effect.
Road conditions will be closely monitored and the Snow Emergency Plan willย be lifted when the roads are safe for travel.


Calvert County

Due to inclement weather forecasts, all Calvert County Public Schools activities are canceled for Monday, Feb. 15.


St. Mary’s County

Due to inclement weather forecasts, all St. Mary’s County Public Schools activities are canceled for Monday, Feb. 15.

Due to the winter storm impacting St. Maryโ€™s County, the six (6) convenience centers, and St. Andrews Landfill will be closed Monday, Feb. 15.
Additionally, the St. Maryโ€™s Transit System will also not operate Monday due to the inclement weather.

Code Brown went into effect Feb. 15 at 3:40 a.m. at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital.

The Snow Emergency Plan has gone into effect for St. Mary’s County. Please stay off the roads if possible.

All Recreation and Parks programs and Centers will be closed and all morning classes are canceled. This includes the following:ย  Leonard Hall, Margaret Brent, and Hollywood recreation Centers, Chancellorโ€™s Run, the Great Mills Swimming Pool and the Gymnastics Center.ย A decision regarding afternoon facilities and programs will me made around noon or as conditions warrant.ย As a reminder all St. Maryโ€™s County Government administrative offices are closed Monday in observance of the Presidents Day holiday.ย Recreation and Parks will continue to assess weather conditions and snow removal progress throughout the morning and provide further updates regarding closures or cancellations which may become necessary.ย Stay up to date by visiting the St. Maryโ€™s County Government website at www.stmarysmd.com or follow us on Facebook or Twitter for official storm updates and information.
