St. Mary’s County Commissioners and other local officials gathered Saturday afternoon for the grand opening of St. Mary’s County’s Welcome Center near the Charlotte Hall Veterans’ Home.
There were free hot dogs, book signins, classic cars and trucks, historic sites and attractions displays, children’s activities and music by ”Island Girl” Deanna Dove, and CHVA Chorus.
The center aims to be the starting point for St. Mary’s County visitors or new residents, with maps, guidebooks, brochures and other information.
