Read Across Charles County fell during a week when Bunkyo University students were visiting Dr. James Craik Elementary School. The Tokyo-based students sat in during a story time in one of Craikโ€™s classes.

Dr. James Craik Elementary School students celebrated Read Across Charles County with a week of activities. Classrooms were decorated, art lessons centered around popular titles and guest readers stopped by to share favorite books and stories.

Dr. Thomas L. Higdon Elementary School K Kids Club recently met goats that are being trained to eat invasive plant species in local state parks.

Indian Head Elementary School students participated in the NAVSEA Lego Robotics competition. Two of the teams placed in second and third place in the technical interview segment of the event. Among the students who placed were fifth graders Jayden Middleton, left, Ryan Gimmel, Skye Winchester, teacher sponsor Bethany Thornton, Hayli Garner and Gabriel Rodriguez-Batalla.
