State and local investigators have determined a fire that damaged an unoccupied, one-story, wood-framed house in the White Sands subdivision of Lusby was deliberately set.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโs Office, the blaze at the home on White Sands Drive was reported April 21 at 4 p.m.
โA neighbor noticed an open door at the residence and notified the owner,โ Dfm. John Nelson reported. โUpon entering the house the damage was located and the [Calvert County] Sheriffโs Office was called. There were numerous small fires intentionally set in several rooms of the house. The incident occurred sometime in the overnight hours of April 20.โ
Damage to the house is estimated at $5,000.
