Good afternoon. Due to inclement weather forecasts for tonight, all Charles County Public Schools after-school and evening activities for Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016 are canceled. Department of Public Works (DPW)
Due to the upcoming snow forecast and the possibility of coastal flooding in the area, the Department of Public Works (DPW) asks that you please take necessary precautions for these conditions. In addition, DPW staff follows the guidelines stated in the Snow Removal Plan for the Town of North Beach. Prior to the snow fall, streets will receive a treatment of salt or chemicals, depending upon forecast conditions. When snow reaches a height of three inches, town staff will begin plowing. The staff will try to maintain two clear lanes on all streets and intersections starting with main accesses to and from town and working outward. Please remember in these types of events to use off-street parking, if available, as this is a great help to crews that are trying to clear streets. Once the streets are clear, crews will start clearing parking areas.
