On February 28, Dfc. Boyer responded to the A & E Motel in Lexington Park, for a report of a domestic assault.
Upon arrival Dfc. Boyer heard a woman yelling within a motel room. The woman was yelling at a male to let her out of the room and a male, later identified as, Raymond Anthony McDowell, 31 of St. Inigoes, telling her he would not let her out.
Further investigation revealed the victim and McDowell had been engaged in a verbal dispute which escalated into a physical assault when McDowell attempted to choke the victim. The victim broke free but then McDowell shut and blocked the door and refused to allow the victim to leave.
McDowell was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and false imprisonment.
