Fairfax County, VA – Virginia State Police reported that on Oct. 28, at 4 p.m. a suicide attempt by a 12-year-old boy killed the driver of a car he struck when he jumped off an interstate overpass.
Marisa Harris, 22, of Olney, died after the boy landed on her car when he jumped from the Cedar Lane overpass on Interstate 66, state police said.
Authorities say the boy landed on the eastbound vehicle and Harris, was knocked out by the impact. A man, who police say was in the passenger’s seat at the time of the collision, took control of the wheel and got the car to the shoulder.
The boy was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital and is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
