At 11:13 a.m. on Sept. 17 , Charles County Sheriffโs officers responded to a residence in the 3600 block of Matlock Place in Waldorf for the report of a fight.
Investigation revealed the suspect, Tia Tameika Goins, 25, of Waldorf, was fighting with four family members and brandishing a knife.
Two of the family members, a man and woman, were trying to disarm Goins when they were stabbed.
Goins was arrested and while Officer R. Snyder was escorting her out of the residence, she pushed Officer Synder and both Officer Synder and Goins fell down nine concrete steps.
Officer Synder sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from Civista Medical Center.
The two family members and Goins received minor injuries but refused treatment by EMS personnel on the scene.
Goins was charged with possession of a deadly weapon with intent to injure, second-degree assault, second-degree assault on a police officer and destruction of property valued at less than $500. She was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the district court commissioner.
