Compton, MD— On March 31, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jason Kerns responded to Colton Street in Compton for a reported assault that had just occurred.ย
When Kerns arrived on the scene, he spoke to the victim who advised, “that her and her ex-boyfriend, the defendantย Kenneth M. Brady, 22, of Shady Side were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into a physicalย altercation,” according to charging documents.ย
The victim advised, “that Brady assaulted the victim by ripping all of her clothing off, then grabbing her by the feet and dragging her through the yard,” according to charging documents. The victim had signs of injury consistent with her story. This included scratches on her back and her buttocks.ย
Brady was located and advised, “that the victim ‘tricked’ him (Brady) into loving her and is continually lying to him,” according to charging documents.ย
Brady advised that he (Brady) assaulted the victim because she was antagonizing him by calling him crazy and laughing at him. Brady was arrested and charged with second degree assault.ย
At this time, Brady does not have a scheduled court date. Brady faces a maximum jail sentence of 10 years and/or a maximum fine $2,500.
