Kara K. Pickeral
Mechanicsville, MD— On Feb.24, detectives from the St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Division responded to Tidewater Pharmacy located on Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville.
Detectives learned a fraudulent prescription had been called into the pharmacy for Xanax. The defendant was identified as, Kara K. Pickeral, 33 of Hughesville.
A search incident to arrest of Pickeral revealed, “a quantity of suspected oxycodone, also a Schedule II CDS,” according to charging documents.
Pickeral was transported to the St.Mary’s County Detention Center. Pickeral was charged with CDS obtained by fraud, and CDS possession not marijuana. She has a scheduled court date of May 17 in District Court.
Pickeral faces a maximum jail sentence of eight years and/or a maximum fine of $50,000.
