Tammy Nannette Mcginnis

California, MD— On Jan.31, the St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Officeย Deputy T. Siciliano responded to the 45000 block of Alton Lane (Food Lion) in California, for a reported theft.

The suspect, Tammy Nannette Mcginnis, 47, of no fixed address, attempted to conceal merchandise and exit the store without paying.

According to charging documents, “A witness advised he observed the defendant place a ham and a turkey into reusable shopping bags, and put them into her shopping car.”ย 

“The defendant then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. The witness confronted the defendant and escorted her back to his office, then called the police,” the charging documents stated.ย 

Mcginnis was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center. She was charged with theft less than $100 and served an active bench warrant.

Mcginnis has a scheduled court date set for March 24 at the St.Mary’s County District Court. Mcginnis faces a maximum jail sentence of one year and six months and/or a maximum fine of $500.ย 

The investigating officer who prepared the charging documents used in this case was Deputy Shane Cameron of the St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.ย
