Lexington Park, MD— The St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to Leachburgย Road in Lexington Park for a reported assault July 15.
When the deputy arrived on the scene contact was made with a man, who said, “He removed the license plates off of his girlfriend’sย vehicleย because they belonged to his mother,” according to charging documents.ย
The man identified the vehicle as a grey Nissan Altima. The man said he was standing in front of his girlfriend’s vehicleย after removingย the tags. The man said his girlfriend,ย who was identified as Angela M. Forrest, 33 of Ridge, became upset with him and put the vehicleย in drive, striking him with the vehicle.ย
The man had numerousย injuriesย on his hands, legs and head. The man said Forrest left the area after strikingย him with the vehicle.ย The man was transported to MedStar St.Mary’s Hospital for his injuries.ย
The deputy made contact with Forrest on Point Lookout Road in Ridge a short time later. The deputy cited Forrest her Miranda Rights. Forrest said she did not strike the man with her vehicle.ย
The deputy saw a hand print and scuff mark on the hood of Forrest’s vehicle. The court documents say the officer observed the marks appearing toย be recent due to the rest of the hood being covered in dust while the marks were clean.ย
Forrest wasย placed under arrest and transported to the St.Mary’s County Detention Center,ย where she was charged with first-degree assault and second-degree assault.ย
Forrest’s bond has beenย wset at $10,000 July 17. Forrest is scheduledย for a court appearanceย set for July 29. Forrest faces a maximum jail sentence of 35 years and/or a maximum fine of $2,500.ย
