On May 4 at 4:20 p.m., officers responded to the 2200 block of Bonnie Lane in Waldorf for the report of a shooting.

Investigation revealed the victim, a 13-year-old male, was standing outside of his house with two family members when an SUV drove past his house. One of the occupants fired a gun several times toward the group, striking the victim in the upper part of his right leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for a non life-threatening injury. The suspects fled in a white, two-toned SUV with a tan or brown lower half, possibly an Isuzu or Nissan.

Detectives are in the process of establishing a motive and are looking into the possibility that someone other than the victim was the intended target.
