FAULKNER, Md. — Community members are rallying to support 22-year-old Brooke Voeks, who remains in intensive care after a serious ATV crash in Charles County last week.

The accident was reported about 7:24 p.m. Aug. 26, 2025, near Lomax Road and Timbercreek Lane in Faulkner. Authorities said Voeks struck a tree while riding and was not wearing a helmet. She was found in a wooded area and flown by Maryland State Police Trooper 7 to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Family and friends said Voeks suffered “a serious head injury, a fractured arm and pelvis, internal bleeding, and a shifted bladder.” Her recovery is expected to be long and difficult.

An online fundraiser launched by family friend Sherry Sizemore has raised more than $5,000 toward a $9,000 goal as of Wednesday. The campaign explains that Voeks’ mother, Regina, “won’t be able to work for the foreseeable future” as she remains by her daughter’s side, while medical bills and travel costs continue to grow.

Voeks had only recently moved to Maryland to start a new chapter in her life. Her parents, who live in St. Augustine, Fla., “immediately dropped everything and flew to Baltimore to be by her side,” according to the fundraiser.

“If you know the Voeks family, you know they are always the first to show up — with open arms, generous hearts, and willing hands,” the campaign states. “They have selflessly given their time and resources to others in need, never asking for anything in return. Now they need us.”

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office said the incident remains under investigation. Donations can be made at GoFundMe.
