40 Vials, 11 Gel Caps: Suspected Crack And Fentanyl Seized In Anne Arundel County Bust

GLEN BURNIE, Md. – Two Baltimore residents were arrested Tuesday night after Anne Arundel County police seized more than 20 grams of suspected narcotics during a traffic stop in Glen Burnie.

According to police, detectives with the Eastern District Strategic Patrol Team conducted a traffic stop at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Feb. 10, 2026, on Ritchie Highway near East Ordnance Road.

Prior to the stop, detectives observed a passenger exit a residence in Pasadena known for drug activity and enter the vehicle, authorities reported.

During the stop, probable cause was established to search the vehicle. As the front-seat passenger exited, detectives observed her discard an object into nearby brush. Officers recovered a bag from the bushes containing suspected drugs and located additional suspected narcotics inside the vehicle.

Police seized approximately 16.4 grams of suspected crack cocaine packaged in 40 individual snap-top containers and 4.1 grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl packaged in 11 gel capsules.

The driver, Bakari Xavier Evans, 32, of Baltimore, and the passenger, Brianna Christine Vail, 24, of Baltimore, were placed under arrest.

Both were charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (not cannabis), two counts of possession with intent to distribute a narcotic, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Evans was released on his own recognizance following a bail hearing on Feb. 11, 2026.

Vail was ordered held without bond after a bail review hearing on Feb. 11 in Glen Burnie District Court. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on March 11, 2026, in Annapolis District Court.
