Maryland State Police Trooper 7

CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. — A 54-year-old man was seriously injured Thursday evening in a motorcycle and SUV collision in Charlotte Hall, prompting a medical helicopter response.

The crash occurred around 7:10 p.m. at the intersection of Golden Beach Road and Triangle Drive. Emergency crews arrived to find a motorcycle and an SUV involved in a T-bone collision, with multiple people reportedly injured and one occupant trapped inside the SUV.

Firefighters quickly extricated the trapped individual while EMS assessed the motorcyclist, whose injuries were determined to be life-threatening. A Maryland State Police medical helicopter was requested and placed on standby before being confirmed for transport.

Crews established a landing zone at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, where Trooper 7 landed and airlifted the injured motorcyclist to UM Capital Region Medical Center in Prince George’s County for treatment.

The driver of the SUV was evaluated at the scene by EMS. No additional injuries were immediately reported.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
