Early Sunday morning 60 riders gathered at Compass Systems, Inc., for the 5th Annual Chiefโ€™s Run for the Wall. The ride is intended to remember those who served in the military, to honor Memorial Day and to raise money for the Charlotte Hall Veterans home.

The riders hit the road at 6:30 for the All American Harley Davidson Dealership in Hughesville. There they joined over 200 riders for the ride to the Harley Davidson dealership in Fort Washington where they joined a larger group of riders. This year, the group decided to ride into DC and watch the parade instead of participating because of the time it takes to leave the Pentagon parking lot โ€“ Some officials estimate it takes the bikers about four or five hours to empty the parking lot once the procession gets underway at 11:50 a.m.

As this went to press, it is unknown how much money was raised from this yearโ€™s Run to The Wall. However last year, the event raised $2,880 towards the purchase of what ever the Veteranโ€™s home needs.
