69-Year-Old Man Airlifted To Trauma Center Following Serious Power Tool Incident In Waldorf

WALDORF, Md. – A serious power tool incident occurred on Pimpernel Drive near Grey Run Drive on February 5, 2024, at approximately 1:18 p.m., prompting response from emergency personnel.

Upon arrival, crews found a 69-year-old man with his arm caught in an electric handheld grinder with a brush wheel attached. Despite efforts, emergency personnel were unable to remove his arm from the grinder.

EMS evaluated the patient and requested MEDEVAC transport. Firefighters established a landing zone nearby for Maryland State Police Aviation Command, Trooper 2.

The patient was flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma Center for treatment.
