LA PLATA, Md. — An 8-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle Tuesday afternoon, May 5, 2026, in La Plata.
The crash was reported around 2:47 p.m. in the 5500 block of Little Brook Drive.
Emergency crews arrived to find the child at the scene. The boy had been wearing a helmet and was suffering from an apparent ankle injury.
The child was transported by ambulance to Children’s National Medical Center.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash.
