At 5:48 P.M. on June 17, 2011, crews from Mechancicsville Volunteer Fire Department Co. 2, Mechanicsville Volunteer Rescue Squad Co. 29, and Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department Co. 2 EMS were alerted for the motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Flora Corner Road and Three Notch Road. MVFD Co. 2 responded with Squad 2 and Engine 23, MVRS Co. 29 with Ambulance 298 and Ambulance 299, and HVFD Co. 2 with Ambulance 28 along with county and state law enforcement. Squad 2 went on scene with two vehicles in the roadway following a t-bone style collision. After assessing the patients, St. Mary’s Advance Life Support was requested for a patient experiencing trouble breathing which brought medic 291. Ambulance 28 was returned while the two units from MVRS Co. 29 transported a patient each. Crews worked on scene for 18 minutes.
