PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A fast-moving storm swept through Calvert County on Wednesday evening, toppling trees and power lines and forcing road closures in multiple areas of Prince Frederick.

As of 6:35 p.m., Route 231 was closed at Adelina Road due to fallen trees and downed power lines, according to emergency officials. Crews responded quickly to secure the scene and urged drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

Additional reports of downed trees came in from the Sixes Road and Grays Road area, where debris blocked lanes and created hazardous conditions. No injuries were immediately reported.

Cleanup and utility restoration efforts are ongoing. Drivers are advised to use caution and remain clear of blocked roadways while crews work to restore access.
