ANNAPOLIS, Md. โ€“ Anne Arundel County government systems have been disrupted in what officials are investigating as a potential cyber attack. An internal email to county employees referred to the incident as an โ€œattack,โ€ while others described it as an โ€œoutage.โ€

The Annapolis Police Department issued a release stating that 911 and 311 services remain fully operational, though some public services are currently down as the county works to restore access. Officials confirmed that computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems have been offline since February 22, 9:45 AM, affecting documentation and call management, but not emergency dispatch operations.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the incident is a ransomware attack or linked to broader cyber threats. The FBI recently warned of increased cyber activity nationwide, and federal agencies are monitoring for potential risks.
