SOLOMONS, Md. — Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center is inviting emerging and established artists to submit original works for its upcoming exhibition, “Imaginary Worlds: Invented Spaces and Places.” The exhibition, which will be held in the Kay Daugherty Gallery from May 9 to Sept. 21, 2025, will explore visionary landscapes, fantastic cityscapes, and surreal dreamscapes created by contemporary artists.

Submissions are open through March 23, 2025, and artists working in 2-D, 3-D, indoor, and outdoor installations are encouraged to apply. The exhibition is focused on artist-created worlds, rather than preexisting fictional universes or directly copyrighted material.

The exhibition aims to transport viewers into invented realms that blur the boundaries between reality and imagination. Each piece will act as a portal into the artist’s unique vision, sparking curiosity and wonder.

“Imaginary Worlds” invites audiences to step into spaces crafted by artists, immersing themselves in places that challenge conventional perceptions of reality.

  • Artists must be 18 years or older and reside in the United States or Canada.
  • Works in all materials and mediums will be considered.
