PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Lexington Park man was arrested and charged after authorities said he made repeated threatening and harassing communications toward a woman, including a threat involving arson, following months of unwanted contact, according to charging documents.
Samuel Ray Green, 24, of Lexington Park, faces misdemeanor charges of making an arson threat and engaging in a course of conduct harassment stemming from incidents reported Jan. 11, 2026.
According to the statement of charges, deputies responded to a report of harassment in Calvert County after the victim reported receiving a series of threatening messages over an extended period. Investigators said the woman told police she met Green online in 2023 and later met him in person once at a public park in St. Mary’s County in March 2024. She reported that she ended contact with Green in April 2024 due to his behavior.
Police said the woman advised she repeatedly told Green to stop contacting her, but he allegedly continued to send messages across multiple social media platforms. Investigators reported that the messages escalated in tone and included explicit threats, including statements involving violence and threats to burn down her residence.
Authorities said the woman provided screenshots of the messages to deputies, which were reviewed as part of the investigation. Police determined there was probable cause to charge Green with harassment based on a course of conduct intended to alarm the victim after requests to stop.
In addition, investigators said Green made a written threat to set fire to a residential family home, leading to the arson threat charge under Maryland law.
An arrest warrant was issued Jan. 13 and served the same day. Court records show Green has been held without bond following multiple bail review hearings in both St. Mary’s County and Calvert County.
A competency hearing is scheduled for Jan. 28, 2026, and a trial date has been set for Feb. 18, 2026, in Calvert District Court.
