For 26 years the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), has been helping to keep families safe through their Change Your Clock, Change Your Batteryยฎ program.
On November 3rd, when you fall back from Daylight Saving Time to standard time after 2 a.m. remember to test and change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
Families are encouraged to use the extra hour “gained” from the end of daylight saving time to review their home fire safety plans. Also, remind your friends, family and neighbors of the life-saving habit of changing and testing smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector batteries.
Sometimes saving a life can be that simple – Change Your Clock Change Your Batteryยฎ.
