There has been an armed bank robbery at the Bank Of America in Lexington Park this morning. Two black males escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, leaving in a Green Accura sedan. The sedan was dropped off at the Queen Ann apartments in Lexington Park. They then changed vehicles to a similar style black four door sedan. The suspects are still on the loose and the St Marys County Police are investigating and Baynet Radio will keep you updated as events progress. Because of this incident,Great Mills Road has been completely shut down in both directions
Also, today, March 24, NAS Pax is requiring a 100 percent security check to get on base. The reason for this extra security is not known at this time. As a result, traffic is backed up from St. Andrews Church Rd. to the base in the southbound direction. Additionally, there have been a number of fender benders along that route.
