At 7:23 a.m. Oct. 25, Bay District Volunteer Fire Department, Lexington Park Station, marked a historical event responding to our 1,000th call for service and counting for the year.
The Bay District Volunteers are the first Station within St. Mary’s County to respond to 1,000-plus calls in a year, reports Fire Captain Jeff Evans.
With Station 9 (California Station) not far behind us for this year it goes to show that more than ever as the calls for the County Fire and EMS Departments keep increasing the need for more volunteers and shows the amount of dedication the volunteers within the fire and EMS system give for St. Mary’s County.
In St. Mary’s County we take pride in our fire and EMS service because all departments are operated by volunteers and we hope it stays this way for many years to come.
