PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – Shortly after 9:30 p.m. on August 7, 2024, emergency personnel responded to a call at the MD-231 Benedict Bridge. The initial report suggested a person was in the water, causing immediate concern among responders.

Deputies from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Bureau quickly arrived at the scene, temporarily closing the bridge to ensure a thorough search.

Their investigation revealed that a male had jumped off the bridge for fun. Fortunately, he was found safe and sound in the boat ramp parking lot.

No injuries were reported, and all emergency units were back in service shortly after 10 p.m.
