WALDORF, MD –The Blue Crabs dropped the series opener 4-2 in 11 innings to the Long Island Ducks on Friday night at Regency Furniture Stadium.ย  Red-hot Michael Snyder hit his third home run in three days propelling the Blue Crabs to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning.

Long Islandโ€™s second baseman Ruben Gotay hit a long double to right field and scored on third basemanโ€™s Cody Puckettโ€™s RBI single.ย  Center fielder Blake Tekotte followed with a double and Puckett scored on a throwing error committed by Blue Crabs right fielder, Jamar Walton.

In the top of the 10th inning, the Ducks loaded the bases but Gotay popped out to second baseman Gary Brown with Brown firing home with a perfect throw to catcher Angel Flores saving a run, and sending the game into the bottom of the 10th.

The Duckโ€™s rallied in the 11th inning when catcher Mike Dowd hit an RBI single and Matt Wessinger hit an RBI double to take the lead winning the game 4-2.ย  The Ducks are now 7-1 against the Blue Crabs this season.ย  Game two of the series will take place tomorrow evening at 6:35 P.M. at Regency Furniture Stadium.
