Waldorf, MD – A 2003 BMW was damaged by an early-morning fire that state investigators say was deliberately set. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the incident occurred Monday morning, Nov. 26 at Piney Church Road and Poston Road in Waldorf.
Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $3,000. No injuries were reported.
“A Charles County Sheriff’s officer who was on routine patrol discovered a partially burned 2003 BMW parked on the side of Piney Church Road,” Dfm. Don Brenneman reported. “The investigation is continuing.”
The blaze originated in the vehicle’s front floor board. The damaged car was discovered around 5 a.m. Police have made no arrests in the case.
Brenneman reported the vehicle is owned by Rudolph Thomas.
