Waldorf, MD –ย A 2003 BMW was damaged by an early-morning fire that state investigators say was deliberately set. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office, the incident occurred Monday morning, Nov. 26 at Piney Church Road and Poston Road in Waldorf.

Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $3,000. No injuries were reported.

โ€œA Charles County Sheriffโ€™s officer who was on routine patrol discovered a partially burned 2003 BMW parked on the side of Piney Church Road,โ€ Dfm. Don Brenneman reported. โ€œThe investigation is continuing.โ€

The blaze originated in the vehicleโ€™s front floor board. The damaged car was discovered around 5 a.m. Police have made no arrests in the case.

Brenneman reported the vehicle is owned by Rudolph Thomas.
