During the afternoon, on Thursday, January 4, the body of a man washed ashore at Point Lookout.
Sheriff Tim Cameron told The Bay Net the body has been identified as that of 54 year old John Dixon from Lexington Park.
Dixon went missing from Patuxent River Naval Base in early December. Around 11 p.m. on Friday December 1, Dixon went to check on his boat, but never returned. “His boat is secured and his car was in the parking lot with keys still in it,” Lt. Commander Ed Zeigler told The Bay Net following the disappearance.
While the Sheriff’s Office was assisting at Point Lookout on Thursday, the investigation has thus far been conducted by NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service). No member of the NCIS was available at the time of this article, but stay with The Bay Net for further information as it emerges.
