The League of Women Voters of St. Mary’s County has invited candidates for the Board of Education and candidates for the Board of County Commissioners to a public forum, Tuesday, April 22 at 6 p.m. at the Lexington Park Library. The forum will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Each candidate will have an opening statement and questions from the audience will follow.
As is the usual practice, individuals in the audience will write their question on a card, which will then be read by the moderator. Candidates’ replies will be timed.
The following candidates have indicated they will attend: Randy Darnowsky, Alonzo Gaskin, Rita Weaver and Karin Bailey.
The candidates for County Commissioner will follow. Scheduled to attend are: Jack Russell, Randy Guy, Merl Evans, Tom Jarboe, Bob Schaller, Mike Hewitt, Tony St. Clair and John O’Connor.
This event is being sponsored by the League, the NAACP and the Vital Community Connectors. Members will assist with the program.
