CLEMENTS, Md. — Corn mazes and pumpkin picking are a sign of the seasons changing.ย 

The 2016 Bowles Farm Corn Maze and Pumpkin Farm is hosting its opening weekend on Sept. 24 and 25. Both the “Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown 50th Anniversary” themed corn maze and pumpkin farm will be open every weekend to the community until Oct. 30.

On Sept. 24 and 25, event organizers are setting aside an entire weekend to celebrate all Girl and Boy Scouts. They ask children to come out in their uniform and receive a dollar off admission price. Troops of more than 15 will need to book a time to come by.

On Oct. 2, Southern Knights Rod and Custom Car Group will be hosting a classic car show starting at 11 a.m. The Avenue DiscDogs will also be performing their freestyle routine. The group has qualified for the Skyhoundz Worldโ€™s to be held in Chattanooga, Tenn. this fall for three different events.

On Oct. 9, Bowles Farm is celebrating Fire and Rescue Appreciation Day and are giving free fire truck rides starting at noon. Fire and Rescue members with identification will get a dollar discount on admission price. Avenue DiscDogs will also be at the maze and farm.

Other events to be hosted at the farm and maze include an Antique Tractor Pull on Oct. 15 and 16, and the Cornfield Cadillacโ€™s Truck Show on Oct. 23.

On Oct. 30, the farm will be celebrating Halloween with Chesapeake County Cruizers and Bluegrass music. Children are welcome to show up in costumes and get a dollar off admission. The Country Line Dancers will be performing starting at 2 p.m. The bluegrass music starts at 3 p.m.
