PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Prince Frederick man has been charged with misdemeanor theft after authorities say he took merchandise from a Walmart store without paying earlier this month, according to court records.
Lionell Mackall Jr., 44, is charged with theft of property valued at $100 to under $1,500, a misdemeanor under Maryland law. The charge stems from an incident reported Dec. 20, 2025, at the Walmart located at 150 N. Solomons Island Road in Prince Frederick.
A deputy with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to the store after asset protection staff reported a theft. Surveillance video allegedly showed a man pushing a shopping cart containing a Ninja Slushie maker valued at $229 past all points of sale without purchasing the item.
Investigators said the suspect was identified as Mackall based on store surveillance footage and a comparison with a previous booking photograph. The deputy also noted familiarity with the suspect from prior encounters, according to the statement of charges.
An arrest warrant was issued Dec. 22 and served Dec. 24, court records show. Mackall was released on an unsecured personal bond of $3,500.
Mackall is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 13, 2026, in Calvert District Court.
