On Sunday, Feb. 27 at approximately 5:56 p.m., firefighters from Bay District, Hollywood, Second District, Seventh District’s Water Supply 5 and Solomons VFD responded to 45953 East Quincy Terrace in California for a working house fire.
The single story family home was fully involved upon arrival. Firefighters knocked down the primary fire in about a half hour and a search for secondary fires was negative.
Authorities estimated that losses approached $200,000 and the Red Cross was called in to assist the family of six. The Fire Marshall was also called in to investigate. The investigation revealed that the fire originated on the outside rear deck, at a propane grill.
The entire house received fire and smoke damage and the family of six was displaced.
