CALLAWAY, Md. — A 39-year-old Loveville man is being held without bond on charges of robbery, assault and felony theft after he allegedly attacked a woman, threatened to kill her and stole both her and her 7-year-old son’s iPhones during a violent domestic dispute.

The incident occurred on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at a residence in Callaway. According to the statement of probable cause, the woman told deputies that she was providing transportation for the suspect, Elvis Tyrell Frederick Jr., when he asked her for money. When she refused, Frederick allegedly struck her repeatedly in the face, causing what deputies described as a bloody nose, a torn earlobe and visible swelling.

The woman told deputies that as she tried to use her iPhone 15+ to call for help, Frederick took the phone from her and continued the assault, saying he was going to kill her. She said she then yelled for her son, who was inside the residence, to contact a relative for help. At that point, Frederick allegedly also took the child’s iPhone 16 before fleeing the scene. Charging documents valued the stolen phones at $1,600.

An arrest warrant was issued, and Frederick was taken into custody on Aug. 6, 2025. He has been charged with robbery, second-degree assault and felony theft ($1,500 to under $25,000). Robbery is a felony that carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.

Following a bail review hearing on Aug. 7, 2025, a judge ordered Frederick to be held at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center without bond. A trial is scheduled for Sept. 15, 2025.
