PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Calvert County has launched a new mobile app that allows bus riders to track buses in real time. The Department of Community Resources and Transportation Division announced the app in a press release on Jan. 28.

The app is called Passio GO! and it gives passengers access to live bus locations, estimated arrival times and route information directly from their smartphones. The app is available through the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

According to the release, this new technology allows local bus riders to view detailed information for individual routes, schedules and stops. Riders can also set arrival alerts, save favorite routes and stops, and receive notifications about route changes or service delays. These features help reduce wait times and keep riders informed while using public transportation.

Calvert County’s public bus transportation links residents with major shopping centers, services and employment hubs. The bus service has eight routes that connect people across the county, with limited routes on weekends.

Calvert also has several Park & Ride locations around the county that provide commuter bus service. These buses make stops throughout Washington, D.C., and connect Calvert residents to transit stops and Northern Virginia. These commuter bus routes are not included on the Passio GO! app.

Residents can learn more about the app, schedules and routes online.
