Over 94 percent of the high school seniors in Calvert County Public Schools met their High School Assessment  graduation requirement as of May, according to data released today by the Maryland State Department of Education. 

There are approximately 30 seniors who are in the process of participating in remediation to re-take one or more of the HSA exams, or are working on Bridge Projects.

Beginning with this year’s high school seniors, the Class of 2009, students must pass or receive a combined minimum score on the four HSAs to graduate. 

The tests are given in English 10, Algebra/Data Analysis, Biology and Government.  Students who do not meet the graduation requirement through their test scores but meet all other graduation requirements may be eligible to complete Bridge Projects to graduate. 

Bridge Projects are designed to enable students to show their knowledge in ways different from a written test and are used for students who have difficulty taking traditional pen and pencil tests.
