Carole Ann Allston was born on December 9th, 1960, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, Maryland. She passed away in her home, holding the hands of her family, in the first few hours of February 5th.
Carole Ann was a lifelong learner and loved gardening, a good book on the beach, playing ping-pong, card games, and tennis with the ‘tennis peeps.’ She was a sports enthusiast, faithfully and loudly cheering on the Washington Commanders, even through their toughest seasons. She loved music, dancing, and, of course, a party!
She was the heartbeat of fun, love in action. Her essence was joy, and her superpower was sharing it with others.
She cherished her career and beloved colleagues at Washington Hospital Center, where she worked loyally in the Pathology Lab for 40 years. There, she found passion and purpose in knowing she was making a difference.
Her love lives on in the hearts of her husband, Ken; her children, Jessica (Mark) Lennox, Ben (Hailey) Allston, and Emily Allston; her grandchildren, William, Paul, and Charlotte; her parents, J. Louis and Elinor Mattingly; and her siblings, Larry (Karen) Mattingly, Keith Mattingly, and Deborah (Bob) Landreth.
We look forward to celebrating our beloved Carole’s life and legacy on Saturday, May 30th. Details will be shared by the family in the coming weeks.
