Carolyn Marlene Hill

Carolyn Marlene Hill, 80, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, at Chesapeake Shores Nursing Center in Lexington Park.

Born on May 9, 1945, in South Carolina, Carolyn was the beloved daughter of James Carl McAlister and Grace Lee Medlin McAlister. She carried with her the warmth and strong family values of her Southern roots throughout her life.

Carolyn found joy in lifeโ€™s simple pleasures. She loved playing Bingo and corn hole, and she had a special talent for knitting, quilting, and sewingโ€”creating handmade treasures for those she loved. She never turned down a cold Diet Pepsi and was happiest when surrounded by her family. More than anything, Carolyn cherished her role as grandmother and took great delight in spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by her devoted son, William Yeager; her grandchildren, Angel, Brittany, Johnny, and Eric; her honorary grandchild, Tracie Brooks; and her sisters, Loretta, Tammy, Anne, and Darlene.

In addition to her husband, Joseph Hill; her parents, James Carl McAlister and Grace Lee Medlin McAlister; and her sister, Linda, Carolyn was preceded in death by her children, Timothy-Wayne, Steven, Frankie, and Pam.

Carolyn will be remembered for her loving heart, her love for country music, generous spirit, and the special joy she brought to her family. Her memory will live on in the many lives she touched.
