
WALDORF, Md. – Several Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) educators have recently earned the CCPS Canvas Certified Educator (CCE) program scholarship. The scholarship reflects their professional achievements and supplements the support of a successful implementation of Canvas with CCPS in the Fall of 2024. Canvas is a web-based learning management system used by school systems, educators and students to access content and communicate with each other.
The CCE program is a series of online courses aimed to strengthen hands-on experience teaching with Canvas, there are six courses, and each course runs for six weeks which allows the participant 36 weeks to become Canvas Certified. The program โempowers teachers to effectively use instructional technology to achieve specific learning goals. Participants gain a deep understanding of designing engaging, dynamic and personalized learning experiences for students,โ Laura Metz, CCPS instructional technology specialist said.
The scholarship was given to 25 CCPS teachers. Staff members who received the scholarship will begin the program January 2024 are set to complete it in September. Participants who complete the program this fall will be the first educators with CCPS to become Canvas Certified.
