The Charles County Sheriff’s Office, Traffic Safety Unit is investigating a hit and run motor vehicle crash that left a man critically injured. On November 4 at 10:44 p.m., a passerby observed an unconscious male lying on the shoulder portion of Poplar Hill Road near Slater Drive in Waldorf. The man, 52, was alive but had sustained severe injuries from being struck by a car.

He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was admitted in critical condition. Officers processed the scene and recovered parts of a car that may have belonged to the striking vehicle. Officers believe the vehicle is an Infiniti QX4, jade silver in color, and manufactured between 2001- 2004; it may have damage to the front headlight area.
