The Charles County 4-H Volunteers Association is looking for donations to support 4-H youth activities at the Charles County Fair. We provide trophies and other incentives to the kids to encourage participation via entries and participation in contests such as Horticulture, Consumer Judging, Dog Agility, and Livestock Judging. 4-H is for boys and girls between the ages of 5-18 and has projects ranging from Photography, Leadership, Citizenship, Marksmanship, Gardening, and Public Speaking to name just a few.

We are specifically looking for donations to help pay for the cost of fair awards but would also appreciate unrestricted donations to be used for other 4-H events if we get enough donations to do so.

Any additional funds will be used during the year for supplies, and matching grant funds.

The kids really appreciate the incentives and it encourages them to enter quality items in the fair. 4-H is a program that help kids of all ages, boys and girls, and from all walks of life learn skills and gain confidence to become contributing adults. So…. help encourage this generation of 4-Hers by letting those around you know that 4-H is a worthy cause and their dollars will go a long way to support our local youth. 100 percentof the funds raised go directly to support 4-H programs — unlike many charitable groups where a large portion of the funds go towards administrative costs.

We have different levels of sponsorship and every level is a big help! The sponsor levels are:

Junior Level — $25 – 49

Intermediate Level — $50 – 99

Senior Level — $100 – 199

Leader Level — $200 or more

Every sponsor who contributes by Tuesday, Sept 2, will have their name printed on a banner that will be hung at the county fair.
