UPDATE: Due to forecasted inclement weather, the Bensville Turf Field ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to noon has been canceled.

WHITE PLAINS, Md. — Charles County will gather to celebrate its newest recreational addition with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Bensville Park on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Hosted by Charles County Parks and Recreation, the event will mark the official opening of the county’s third synthetic turf field. The field is striped to accommodate five different sports and is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the region’s athletic infrastructure.
Attendees can enjoy Earth Day-themed recreational activities, giveaways, local food trucks and a visit from the Rec Xpress mobile recreation vehicle.
The new field joins existing turf surfaces at White Plains Regional Park and Laurel Springs, which opened in 2023. County officials say the project represents a continued investment in year-round outdoor spaces for all ages.
Bensville Park is located at 6980 Bensville Road, White Plains, MD 20695. To explore more programs and events, view the Charles County Parks and Recreation Spring Guide.
