PORT TOBACCO, Md. – CCYO will perform on Saturday, May 4 at 12 pm at the 15th Annual Market Day event at the Port Tobacco Courthouse, 8430 Commerce St., Port Tobacco, MD. This concert is free and open to the public. https://www.explorecharlescounty.com/events/annual-events/port-tobacco-market-day 

The concert will include music from the “Avengers”, popular fiddle tunes, Pachelbel’s Canon, the 1812 Overture and much more!  

Upcoming CCYO concerts include May 19 at 3 pm at Thomas Stone High School, June 8 at 12 pm at ArtsFest at the Indian Head Village Green, the Annual Concerto Competition Concert also on June 8 at 3 pm at Christ Church, La Plata, June 29 at 8 pm at the Alice Ferguson Foundation in Accokeek, and the CCYO Chamber Music Festival concerts July 20 and 27 at 8 pm at Christ Church, La Plata. 

Recently, CCYO has been spotlighted in an online film by the Charles County Arts Alliance and has been featured on WTOP radio. Also, two CCYO String Quartets were finalists in the prestigious Washington Performing Arts Society Misbin Chamber Music Competition in Washington, D.C.  

The Charles County Youth Orchestra is sponsored in part by grants from the Charles County Arts Alliance, the Charles County Charitable Trust, the Maryland State Arts Council, the Rotary Club of Charles County, MD, Christ Church Wayside and the Knights of Columbus of Accokeek, MD. Other major contributors include Potters Violins, Gailes Violin Shop, and the Neighborhood Creative Arts Center of La Plata as well as generous donations from individuals.
